Timeline: 36+ Months
To maintain the safety and reliability of Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport, it was necessary to replace a significant number of aged and damaged concrete slabs.
Oak Park Tullamarine undertook most concrete works related to the project including over 61,000m² of 500mm thick PCC pavement, and all associated grated drainage works and pits. Due to the nature of works, it was necessary for the project to be strategically staged over the 36-month duration to ensure limited disruptions to the ongoing daily airfield operations.
Oak Park Tullamarine was therefore required to adhere to reduced timeframes and strict deadlines, all of which were achieved.

The McKinnon Level Crossing Removal was again part of the Victorian State Government’s commitment towards the removal of Victoria’s 50 most dangerous level crossings. The project was one of four undertaken simultaneously in Melbourne’s inner east.
Due to the large scale and impact of the required works, it was mandatory this section of the Frankston railway line be under full occupation for 37 days. Oak Park Tullamarine was given a strict timeline of 14 days to complete over 12,000m² of blinding and 12,000m² of structural basement slabs.
